In March 2019, CZW obtained a defense verdict in a federal jury trial for an Oklahoma City police officer accused of using excessive force during an arrest. In McCalister v. Castlebury, Plaintiff claimed that in the course of an arrest for drug related crimes, the Defendant Officer stomped, kicked, and punched him in the face. The Defendant Officer denied Plaintiff’s claims entirely. The case was tried to a federal jury which quickly ruled in favor of the Defendant Officer.
